Pennsylvania 5 is a short story, ~20,000 words (about 70 pages), and is the fifth and final book in the five-star-rated Pennsylvania series.

This is the exciting conclusion to this bestselling series. Everything I could say would be a spoiler. The complete Omnibus edition will be out in April or early May, so you might want to wait and get the whole series under one cover. But if you've been following along... cool stuff happens in this exciting conclusion to the first series! ;)

Pennsylvania 5 is scheduled for release on March 28th, 2014.

Pennsylvania 5 The Peaceful Kind eBook Michael Bunker

Okay, let me first say that I wrote a raving 5 star review of Pennsylvania 1, quickly purchased all the subsequent books, and promoted this series on Facebook several times. Now, after reading Pennsylvania 5 all I can say is, you've got to be kidding. This series in no way ended, infact the book Pennsylvania 5 had no real ending itself. Michael Bunker, I hope you read your reviews because this is one irrate reader! Most writers when they write a series, write full length novels in 3 or 4 books. You offered Pennsylvania 1 for free and suckered me into buying the other 4 novellas thinking there would be some sort of ending or resolution to this story...Isn't that what they teach you in writing 101? Now I am invested in these characters and for what, so that you can sell me another 5 novellas posing to be novels? I'm really pissed that I can't give this book less than 4 stars for that reason alone. But to be fair, you're writing style is great, the characters are entertaining, and Amish-Sci subject matter leaves me nearly begging for more of these characters,, need I say more? I implore you to make Oklahoma one book rather than using your readers interest in this story to just sell as many books as you can. I've formed a love/hate relationship with this story now and pray that Oklahoma ends with some sort of resolution. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to end the story there, heck, I don't care if you go around the entire 50 states ( ...hummmm...Amish transported from the future and now living in Hawaii...well, maybe not all 50 states) all I'm saying is resolve that book alone.

Pennsylvania 5 The Peaceful Kind eBook Michael Bunker Reviews

You can't end a story like that. Terrible waste of time. Worst than the TV Series lost that obviously made no sense. Just a bunch of seemly good ideas that aren't then tied together. Simply terrible. Don't waste your time on this series.
Michael Bunker did an excellent job of writing the next chapter of this story. I don't know if I would call it an "end" per say, but the intensity and mystery definitely didn't let down. We got some answers, but there are still some good questions and I am eagerly looking forward to the next installment taken up in Oklahoma! I'll be pre-buying it as soon as it comes out )
This is worth at least five seasons of television, and properly cast, should rival Little House on the Prairie for writing, for plot, for morality and values, and for sheer pleasure of watching a brand new genre blossom before our eyes. I'm only giving this one five stars because won't allow six. Or seven. Etc.

No pressure, Michael Bunker, but if you stop now, you will throw your growing following into deep depression.
With the conclusion of his Pennsylvania series, Michael Bunker has assured his place at the forefront of the Indie Revolution. Thankfully, there is more story to tell in the planned Oklahoma series. I started this series for the science fiction element, but by the end, I found that I looked forward to the descriptions of the Amish lifestyle (the communal barn raising) just as much. Mr. Bunker expertly blends tender moments full of character development with exciting science fiction action. Be sure to read his other works as well. I highly recommend The Last Pilgrims (the first in a planned trilogy), itself a follow-up to his epic Wick omnibus. Pennsylvania 5 was the perfect ending to an amazing story. It leaves you with just enough questions to keep you begging for more.
This series comes to a close with Jed doing some heavy duty thinking, reuniting with some of his friends and seeing some of them injured, spending a lot of time in cyberspace, finally figuring out that he loves Dawn, and building a barn. Jed is a very busy boy. He’s still a long way from having his own farm, though.

While this series ends, the story does not, and in fact has new elements introduced near the end of this installment. Some questions have been answered, but more have not, and nothing has actually been resolved. The story is still in progress, so this is not The End. It’s more like an intermission, To Be Continued. I’ll be waiting to see Jed again in the new series. I've certainly enjoyed this one.
I kid you not. The whole Pennsylvania series, including Penn 5 has got to be one of the best books I've ever read. Excellently written. Don't know how to better say it than that. The ideas expressed in the man - machine interface were beautifully descriptive and accurate. My work background has been in computer user interface and the author has done his research and described it well.

The description of Amish life, culture and thought processes and the interplay of ideas between the world view of the 'English' and the Amish was insightful. The conflicts of the main characters romance was enjoyable to consider. The plot, with its twists and turns kept me wanting for more. I hope that there is a sequel in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Well done Mr. Bunker!
The 5th and final installment of the Pennsylvania serial novel does a good job of wrapping things up, while at the same time leaving the door wide open for a sequel. Overall I liked the story and the pace of the novel. The writing was solid throughout. Some readers might be frustrated at how there are still some unanswered questions but to me it actually makes more sense this way. From the very beginning, we have learned small pieces of the story only as they are revealed to Jed, through conversations with other characters. By the end of P5, it is clear that no characters in the book have all the answers. Amos knows the most but even he doesn't know it all. So, where are all the answers? I don't know for sure but I bet now would be a good time to unfold a map of Oklahoma and start looking. 4/5
